Installing Themes
Installing WordPress Themes is a very easy process. The hardest part is choosing the right theme for you! Once you have hand picked the right WordPress template/theme, follow these steps for an easy installation…
STEP ONE > DOWNLOAD THE WORDPRESS THEME
Simply download the theme you are interested in onto your hard drive. This file will generally be in an archived format, such as a .zip file
STEP TWO> EXTRACT THE FILES
Extract the file to your hard drive. You will notice a folder with the site files inside them.
STEP THREE> COPY FILES TO WORDPRESS FOLDER
Copy the extracted files to the following folder on your server:
wp-content/themes
For example; the ‘Vintage Style’ theme files will upload to:
wp-content/themes/vintagestyle
STEP FOUR> LOGIN TO WORDPRESS
Now log into your WordPress admin section and click on ‘Appearance’.
STEP FIVE> ACTIVATE YOUR THEME!
You will now see a list of themes you can use. Simply click on the ‘Preview’ link below the theme you want to preview. If you are satisfied click on ‘Activate’.
Your theme is now active for your visitors to see!
